DTN COMMENTS: The country is slow to start this morning following a light
trade in the South with live deals at mostly $120 to $121, steady to $.50
higher than last week's weighted averages. Northern business was light to
moderate, with dressed trade marked at mostly $196, roughly $1 higher than
last week's weighted average basis Nebraska. Asking prices for cattle left
on showlists are around $122 in the South and $198 plus in the North. It is
likely that more business will take place at some point today. Beef cutouts
are expected to be higher with light to moderate box movement.
